About Our Farm
Filbert Street Garden was established in 2010 as part of the Baltimore Greenspace Program. Once an overgrown empty lot full of trash, Filbert Street Garden now hosts the largest community garden beeyard in the state of Maryland!

On one acre of land Filbert Street Garden farm raises livestock for educational purposes. Our livestock includes chickens, turkeys, roosters, sheep and goats. We also have Bees, generating 23 beehives.

Our fruits, vegetables, and eggs are donated to South Baltimore’s most afflicted in line with the Garden’s mission and tackling food access in Curtis Bay. We also support urban wildlife through our pollinator project, which provides a home and helps re-establish bee hives, and our native bat project, through our bat houses.

Our garden provides a green space in South Baltimore’s urban and industrial landscape where patrons and visitors alike can enjoy planting, harvesting, and some peaceful leisure time in our space. We have seasonal events varying from hosting play days, movies nights, and to educational visits.
